The new Epson Stylus SX405 is the latest offering from Epson in their multifunction range, it offers all the functions of a printer, scanner and photo copier in one neat unit. Everything about the SX405 is designed to be as easy to use as possible and this highlighted in the simplicity of the setup and installation onto a PC which only takes around fives minutes. The design is good the SX405 has a grey and black plastic body and looks rather nice and provides A4 scanning and copying via its flatbed scanner that is concealed beneath the gloss black lid. As well as looking the part the SX405 also perform well too, its printing is easily capable of produces high quality photographs as well as all the everyday documents. The scanner and copier both make use of the high resolution (1200 x 2400ppi) A4 fled bed which produces great scans and copy with good resemblance to the original documents. The copier is a bit limited in the fact that it is only capable of copying a maximum of nine documents at one time. Running costs for printers in this category are usually expensive but the printer ink cartridges for the SX405 are reasonable compared to the competition. A full set of genuine Epson SX405 ink cartridges costs around £30 while a set of compatible Epson ink cartridges can be picked up for £15.
